Does anyone else rate engines based on their rev-limiters?

I know some people are scared to hit the rev limiter, but I personally rate engines based on how good their rev limiter sounds. There’s nothing quite like just kissing the rev-limiter and then grabbing the next gear.

Personally, my favorites have to be the Toyota/Lexus limiters. They’re so fast and rapid, and most of their engines just so willingly rev right up to redline.

Hitting the rev limiter is like not pulling out.

Revbanging is nice and all, but anti-lag is where it’s at.

You don’t need Revs if you make Torque.

why bother hitting the limiter if it quits making power way before your hit it?

Back when I was a boy we didn’t have rev limiters, and we liked it.

Hitting the rev limiter is like slamming into a girl’s cervix.

You also don’t need much torque if you don’t weigh as much as a locomotive.

I do. I have to get used to cars that don’t redline at 8200 rpm....

Heavy cars plant their power. My 4400lb boat is faster than an F-body Camaro. It’s all a balance.

This truck puts down 540 RWTQ @ under 2500 RPM. Still hits the rev-limiter regularly.
